The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL).

Heading out to a football game is a fall tradition for countless individuals around the country. For those who are new to the game, or just want to be as prepared as possible, taking along the right essential items can make all the difference, fans can have the best and most entertaining experience possible.

Tailgating Grill

Tailgating at a game is one of the great traditions of football. In order to pull off the best tailgating experience, fans often turn to tailgating grills to cook up favorites such as hamburgers and hot dogs. These grills vary from portable units too large-scale, full-service grills.

Charcoal Grill: gives food smoky, classic grill taste Cooks evenly

Gas Grill: Quick startup time less mess to deal with than charcoal

Electric Grill: Easiest to use

Football fans can also choose a grill based on size. Portable grills are small enough to carry and are great options for those with smaller cars or groups. Those with trucks and cars with a tow hitch may want to consider a large-scale trailer grill with a hitch that they can pull right into a stadium lot. These large grillers can feature all of the advantages of a home barbecue grill.

Seat Cushion

Sitting on a cold, hard piece of plastic or metal for three hours is never fun. That is why the pro football fan always brings along a seat cushion. While seat cushions can be quite elaborate, the best option is always a simple, easy-to-tote square cushion with minimum bells and whistles. This makes not only travelling to and from the game easier but also getting into pro stadiums easier as well, since many venues now have restrictions on these items. The ideal seat cushion has:

  • No pockets, compartments, zipper enclosures or covers
  • A clear body

Keeping an eye out for seat cushions that meet these standards that also have team logos printed on them is a good idea. In this way, fans can play by the rules and support their teams all at once.

Clear Tote

Many people don’t realize that a number of stadiums and football organizations around the country implemented a ban on bags and purses a while back. What this means is that attending many marquee games may mean leaving a favorite purse behind. In lieu of a backpack or favorite hobo bag, bring along a clear tote that makes getting through security a breeze. Totes with team-friendly designs and logos are also an option.

Field Glasses or Binoculars

Catching all of the action even at small, local games can be difficult at times. The field of action is over 100 yards after all. Bringing along a pair of binoculars or field glasses can make a big difference to your level of enjoyment at a game. With the right pair of binoculars, fans can catch a key play right when it happens and not have to wait around for a jumbo screen replay.

Cooler

Those attending pro games in a stadium will not be able to bring a cooler into the game, but those enjoying local games can. A cooler filled with favorite beverages and snacks can make a game much more enjoyable. Staying hydrated keeps fans cool during warm weather games, while staying loaded on calories keeps them warm during winter games.
